Baby car
Three-wheeled microcars became fashionable in Eastern European countries. This model is curious because of its canvas body. It was produced in what is now the Czech Republic, and although it could barely reach 30 km/h, its success meant that 120 were produced every month.
Its low price and curious appearance made the Czechs value this and similar models highly. In fact, it is not uncommon in the Czech Republic today to have an acquaintance who still has a Velorex for nostalgia’s sake.
According to the president of the Velorex Club, ‘travelling in a Velorex is like riding a bicycle, driving a car and flying in an aeroplane at the same time. The person who sits in a Velorex truly experiences a mixture of sensations’. The car was initially marketed with leather bodywork.
