The aristocratic
Its luxurious interior decoration, made of velvet, silk, wood, crystals and precious golden details, includes a telephone for passengers to contact the chauffeur, as well as a convertible top known as a ‘landaulet’. This model has been restored by the MAM team.
Panhard was a French company founded in 1887, under the name Panhard et Levassor. It manufactured cars until the 1960s, when Citroën took control of the brand and it disappeared. The year was 1967 and Citroën reoriented its market strategy towards the production of military vehicles.
One thing that distinguishes this car is that the headlights do not have candles or bulbs, but are powered by acetylene gas. On the side of the car, there is a container with a water dropper and carbide stones which, when joined together, generate this gas, which reaches the headlamps through thin metal pipes. The flame was whiter and the light more powerful.
