The trans-african
Sporty model of which only 200 units were produced. It took part in important European races, such as the 24 Hours of Spa in 1925. Even so, this model made history by being the first wheeled vehicle to cross Africa from North to South in 1928. It was registered in Madrid in January 1929.
Fabrique Nationale d’Armes de Guerre, or simply FN, was a Belgian company founded in 1889. Although it was primarily known for making weapons, it also produced automobiles and motorbikes for several decades. The company began manufacturing automobiles in 1899, and continued to do so until the late 1930s.
FN was Belgium’s longest-serving automobile manufacturer, with a history spanning almost 40 years. The first car produced by the Fabrique Nationale d’Armes de Guerre (FN) was the Spider in 1900, which had a two-cylinder engine and a chain drive. FN’s luxurious Typ 30-40 followed in 1905 and was a favourite of Belgian royalty and the Shah of Persia. In 1927, the FN 10CV was launched, followed by the technically advanced FN 11CV in 1930, which was available as a delivery van and as an eight-cylinder model.
