“Birds in flight fascinate me”
This dress is a very symbolic piece, because, although this dress debuted in 2009, the print is a reinterpretation of a piece belonging to another very important moment for Lee McQ, as a person and as a brand. We are talking about his fifth collection, Spring-Summer 1995, ‘The Birds’, inspired by Hitchcock’s film of the same name, one of his favourites.
In the original woollen jacket, the swallows are released from the darkness represented by the black shoulders. In contrast, in our dress, this time in silk, the gradient occurs from a maximised houndstooth pattern, ending with the swallows in a flight more towards freedom than attack.

Another of MAM’s favourites and most popular, also participated in our debut at the Larios 2024 Catwalk, in its thirteenth edition. This was the first time that the pieces of the collection left the museum and paraded again on the catwalk.
In 2019, he also participated in the Vogue Like a Painting exhibition, which explores the relationship between fashion photography and painting through a selection of more than 60 large-format images from Vogue magazine’s photographic archive, one of the most important fashion archives in the world.

Irreverent, provocative and definitely ahead of his time, Alexander Lee McQueen was one of the most influential and transgressive designers in contemporary fashion. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1992 with his Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims collection, he attracted attention for his dark, theatrical and provocative approach. He founded his eponymous label, where he explored the beauty in the macabre through architectural silhouettes, innovative techniques and striking shows that challenged established norms.
He later succeeded Galliano as creative director at Givenchy, where he remained for five years while running his own label. After leaving Givenchy in 2001, his creativity peaked with iconic collections, combining history, technology and fantasy. His legacy lives on in fashion, remembered for his unique vision, impeccable tailoring and ability to emote through design.
