A parade car
This model was produced between 1931 and 1939, in 4 series with different changes. Personalised for an Italian countess, it shows the extraordinary work of the famous coachbuilder Pininfarina, both on the exterior and interior. It is one of the most beautiful Lancia of all time. A similar model, the Astura Ministeriale, was used in Mussolini’s regime.
Pininfarina wanted to design a sophisticated, elegant and expensive car, and he definitely succeeded. It was heavily influenced by the Art Deco era, with flowing lines, a touch of extravagance and an aura that attracted the interest of many Italian dignitaries, including Mussolini.
The first series featured a 2600 cc, 72 HP engine, and the later ones increased the engine displacement to 3000 cc and 82 HP. Fewer than 3,000 models were produced, of which only 426 were of the fourth series. It had elegant upholstery, a wooden dashboard and a small dressing table with perfume and make-up bottles on the back seats.
