The doctor’s car
Morris Motors was one of the leading British companies. It came to have 51% of the domestic market as customers. This model was one of the first to enable doctors to get around quickly and finally dispense with animals as transport.
The key to the success of this vehicle was marketing. There are numerous posters and advertisements in the press about the great mobility advantages of owning a car like the Morris Minor, always alluding to the fact that it provided the same benefits as a large vehicle, but with reduced dimensions.
This car has a valve that indicates the engine temperature, but instead of having it on the dashboard it is on the badge at the front of the car. It has a needle that ranges from ‘cool’ to ‘boil’.
