This is one of the jewels of designer Gordon Buehrig. Highly engineered, it was on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in 2003. Racing driver Ab Jenkins test drove an identical model for 12 hours straight at 160 km/h (100 mph).
The top speed of this car (160 km/h) is impressive not only because of the engine capacity, but also because it was not a particularly light model, weighing 1,702 kilograms.
Although its market launch was used as a strategy to revive the marque and was very successful, the excesses of the 1920s and the depression of the 1930s won the day, so that only 500 were produced before the company closed in 1937. Nevertheless, its aesthetics and power captivated the creators of the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, who used a replica of this model for the adventurer’s best scenes in the movie.
